For my magazine analysis I have chosen to use a magazine with the same genre of my own. The magazine I have decided to use is Q, it also has a similar target audience to my magazine. The first thing that I notice on the page is definitely the main image, its really big and she takes up most of the page, I have noticed that a lot of magazines usually go for around three different images on the contents so I like how this one is different. The model seems to be quite joyful she is laughing and looks like she could be jumping or dancing or making some sort of movement, I think this suits the genre well although she is really happy and smiling its not too 'cheesy'.
The layout of the contents page is really simple but doesn't look boring, its just enough information and not to much, I have also noticed that the title isn't really big like it would be on a front cover, I think the readers know that it's a contents page without having to read the masthead.
The stories and content have been split into two categories 'regulars' and 'features' I think its a good idea to separate the things that are always in the magazine and the one off things so that nobody gets confused. They have also stuck to the three colours of Q magazine, red, white and black this makes the magazine look really professional and ensures that it is from the same magazine as the cover.
