The first thing we notice on the front cover of this 'NME' magazine is
again the main image, unlike the 'Q' magazine this image is a close up
shot covering the whole front page, this really stands out to the target
audience. I think the target audience is people age 15/16 and above because this artist is popular in this age group and
I think the genre is indie and rock, I think this because Florence
Welch is alternative rock. The layout of the front cover is really
simple again this makes all the cover lines easy and clear to read, there isn't a lot of coverlines on the cover because if there was too many you wouldn't' be able to see the main central image and also it will look very crowded so NME have just included the most important features. The
cover lines are all appropriate to the magazines demographic profile and
genre. I think the audience for NME magazine is for people a bit older,
late 20's/30's and above, I think that the genre of this particular
issue would be indie/rock as that is the style of music Florence
welch(main image) usually sings. The magazine uses visual hierarchy
well, having the masthead in the top left and going around the page
clockwise in order of importance, this is because that is often how
people read a front page so the most important things are read first. This magazine hasn't used three colours which is more conventional they have only used two black and white, however some readers might see the red hair of the model as the third colour. The fonts and sizes they have chosen are suitable for the magazine everything is clear to read and understand.
